This year the sixth annual Irish SIAM Student Chapter Conference is being organised by the NUI Galway Student Chapter of SIAM. The conference brings together research students from different universities, giving them the chance to broaden their horizons and see what other students in their research area are working on. The conference aims to build relationships and foster collaboration amongst early career researchers in the areas of industrial and applied mathematics in Ireland and further afield. The event is generously supported by SIAM (Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics), the Stokes Cluster of the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics at NUI Galway, and the NUI Galway Mathematics Society.

Thank to our invited guests, Doireann O'Kiely from the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford and Andrea Aleni from Google, for agreeing to participate with plenary talks.
