The IWSM
The International Workshop on Statistical Modelling (IWSM) meanwhile has been held annually for more than two decades. It grew out of two GLIM conferences in the 1980s and since then broadened its scope to all areas of applied statistical modelling.
The spirit of the workshop has always been to focus on problems motivated by real life data and on solutions that make novel contributions to the subject. We foster exchange of ideas and discussions among participants by avoiding parallel sessions. Cross-fertilization of ideas from different statistical disciplines has always been our aim.
We particularly encourage submissions by students early in their career, and prizes are awarded for best student presentations. Poster sessions complement the programme of the IWSM.
The next workshop, to be held in Prague from from 16-20th July 2012, will be the 27th workshop in the history of the IWSM.
