Getting to NUI Galway

Galway is situated on the West Coast of Ireland and may be easily reached by air, ferry, train, bus or car or a combination of these.
There are regular rail connections from Dublin to Galway, and bus connections from all Irish cities and towns. Our local airport Galway offers connections to many of the major British Airports. The Airport is 7kms from the NUI Galway campus. Taxis typically cost €25.

Alternatively, there are a number of other access points, including Dublin Airport and Shannon Airport. From Dublin or Shannon airports, one may hire a car or take a bus to Galway (express services of Citylink and GoBus are the most suitable); travel time is 2.5 hours and 1.5 hours respectively. Buses terminate at the new Coach Station in Galway city. From there, take a cab to your hotel. There is a taxi rank just outside the coach station, and more taxis at the top of Eyre Square.

Further information is available here.

NUI Galway has a number of pay-and-display parking places for visitors. Cars parked in other spaces on the NUI Galway campus and not displaying a valid parking permit will be clamped. Please contact the organizers if you need a parking permit (free of charge) to park on NUIG campus.
