I am lecturer in Mathematics at NUI Galway. My research
interests are mostly concerned the analysis of numerical schemes for
differential equations.
I teach courses in Mathematics at all undergraduate and postgraduate
levels; many of these courses have an emphasis on computational
mathematics
During the current academic year, by administrative responsibilities
include (the rather pleasant task of) co-organising our
mathematics
seminars.
More details on all this below.

Research
My area of research is Numerical Analysis. I am particularly interested
in the design and analysis of numerical methods for singularly perturbed
differential equations, and in the application of novel methods in
numerical modelling. For more details, see
my research page.
NEW: IRCSET Embark Initiative Postgraduate Scholarships (2012)
The Irish Research Council for
Science, Engineering & Technology (IRCSET) offers scholarships to
students who would like to pursue a PhD at an Irish
institution. Funding is for 3 years, and provides for fees,
a stipend of €16,000, and expenses for conference travel and
computer equipment.
If you might be interested in
working
in
numerical analysis (algorithm
design, theory, implementation and application)
then please read about
my suggested projects.
For full details on the application procedure, please see
http://www.ircset.ie/tabid/63/default.aspx
The application system opens on 11/01/12 and
closes Wednesday 15/02/12
